Hello people, and welcome to the internet! I now have a blog that details all my projects for the Viz Lab classes... (if you haven't heard the news, I'm in the Viz Lab now!) Check it out at http://blogs.tamu.edu/meganite. I would like to get a new portfolio site up and running, and I imagine that is going to be my next major personal web project. For now, the aforementioned blog will keep track of my current work. You can still see my old portfolio site at http://people.tamu.edu/~meganite.

I did a quick ad-hoc update of my portfolio. The top of this page now has a link to a bare-bones directory for my newest work that's not a million years old.

Hey y'all, I gave the site a little bit of a new graphical touch. Do you like it?

Open this site up in Internet Explorer. Go ahead, I dare ya!
See? It works. Basically, I took the name class off of the main post div, and gave it its own, because IE6 has problems with inheritance that makes it look funny, and causes the image to be displayed as the background to a child of the div.sean, or div.lars, or div.megan class.
I had some extra time in class today and all we have on the school PCs is Internet Explorer 6, so I played around with it till it worked.

For those of you who aren't in the know, I am currently in Phoenix studying at High Tech Institute, in their Graphic Design and Animation program.
I'm learning all sorts of things about Flash, Photoshop, web design, etc. It's fast paced, the teachers are good, and the classes are small. In any case, we also got web hosting through the school, and domain name registration.
Of course, after they gave us all that they expected us to put up a website. ;)
It's not everything I want it to be yet, but it does demonstrate some of my skills in Flash, HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL.
so, without further ado, if you missed the link above, here it is: Shontek.com (best viewed in Internet Explorer. Yeah, yeah, I know =P).

Over on the forum we had some troubles with spam and spammers, and had to close down new user registration for a while. I am happy to say that is no longer in effect, and the forum is now open to new users!
If you have any problems registering, contact me at: branewalker(at)gmail(dot)com
Or if existing members have issues, send me a PM over on the boards.
A big thanks to EXreaction over on the phpbb mod and development forums for writing some excellent security scripts (and releasing them with simple instructions so morons like me can use them). Check out his website and marvel his beautiful and feature rich bulletin board that blogs new posts.

I just uploaded four flash presentations that I used as my powerpoint-alternative for some design seminars I did for The Texas Aggie Game Developers. I gave them last semester, but I figured you people might find them interesting to read. You can find them all on the Projects page, too.
